The Seattle Mariners are preparing to start talking to new players in the league. There has been some new found talent found throughout the league lately, and MLBL is about to start a big transaction period, where all teams will take part in a ton of trades, free agent signings, or anything pertaining to their rosters. At this point, there are two players the Mariners have their eyes set on.
One of those players is Catcher Uzi Thundakowski. He's a 22 year old native to Seattle, and has shown some interest in joining Seattle. The Mariners have made it public to him and other GMs, he'll be able to play where he wants, when he wants if he signs with the Mariners. The Mariners are expected to split the catching and DH spots with Thundakowski and Johjima if Uzi signs, but it is up to Uzi. The Mariners are trying to pride their first class organization and hometown team image to lure Uzi to Seattle. It also doesn't hurt that they are willing to throw some money at him.
The other player the M's are currently looking at is Jack Bauer. He's a 6'6, 17 year old, lefty pitcher. He's a Los Angeles native, but the M's are hoping he'll go up north to Seattle. He'd make a perfect match with Felix Hernandez as two of the best young starters in the big leagues. The new GM of the M's, Gabe Freimund, has said this M's team will pride themselves in pitching and Bauer would be a great addition to the team. The M's have said they'll strongly pursue Bauer if he's interested in him. He also said he'd most likely be their number 1 starting heading into the season barring another huge transaction.
The M's have said that they'll do what it takes to sign these two young players. Win or lose on these players, they'll know they did their best to sign either one.
